Job Description

Louis Berger’s Emergency Management and IH Services Department has an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Management Specialist. This position will be working remotely or at a field office. This position will be responsible for supporting the emergency management team and deploying to disasters at the time of the event. Duties will include:

  • Assist in the planning of the organization of the Logistics Team
  • Coordinating and processing requests for additional resources and supporting current service and support capabilities
  • Maintaining unit/activity log for all on-site/staging area operations and compiling daily reports in accordance with specified mission requirements
  • Supporting Louis Berger Project Managers to ensure that projects are completed according to contract scope of work and specifications
  • Interact with internal accounting staff in the preparation of timely invoices to ensure proper project billing
  • Interface with clients to ensure project task completion and client satisfaction
  • Documentation management of reports and other project deliverables (copy, mail and file any documentation that pertain to projects)

Required Experience

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in disaster/emergency management or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of project related work
  • Willingness to travel in disaster response situations for up to 4 weeks at a time
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Beneficial Skills/Experience:

  • FEMA ICS and NIMS certification
  • Disaster response/recovery experience
