Job Description

Louis Berger has an exciting opening for an Estimator to join its Project Management / Construction Management team at its Washington, DC office. The Estimator will be a vital contributor to the team and will have the opportunity to support key Construction Management Technical Support projects through the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and independent government cost estimates for program and project budgeting, A/E designs, military construction long-term projects and current maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction projects following the guidance in Unified Facilities Criteria, UFC 3- 701-01 and all Construction Specifications Institute Divisions (architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or civil). The estimator utilizes a general contracting background to convert statements of work into items, quantities, and unit costs. Responsible for maintaining the institutional local construction costs data sets. Perform market studies and system/material availability and feasibility assessments. Current cost estimating software tool in use is RS Means.

Required Experience

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • 5 -10 years dedicated construction cost estimating or combined estimating/project management experience
  • BS degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, science or mathematics
